The event planner is a job that deals with a wide range of events. It is not as simple as merely planning an event but going through a number of things that differ accordingly. There are a number of responsibilities such as signage, marketing, audiovisual equipment, finance and budget. The planners are also responsible for proper accommodation and transportation of all those who are part of the event.

Educational Requirements:

The candidate should possess a range of management course degrees. No matter what the degree type is, from certification to bachelor’s and master’s degree, it is important that the event planner has a solid theoretical foundation about what the job entails and what he or she is required to do.

Some prefer a bachelor’s degree in Event Management such as Hospitality Management or even Public Relations. The training enables the candidate to be more confident and this takes around two to four years to complete. One can get an associate’s degree.

The event planner is one assembles, markets and advertises a product. It is up to the event planner to come up with creative ways to market the product or event and impress up on both the providers and the consumers. The important thing is to ensure that the attendees should leave with a satisfied and positive experience. It does not matter what sort of event one is planning, the event planner is crucial in the execution.

Average Annual Income

The average income for any event planner can amount to $39,000. For convention and meeting planner, this can be up to $70,000.
